Theory and practical learning are presented by means of lectures, demonstration, and student participation. The program is presented through comprehensive lesson plans that reflect effective educational methods. Theory is taught from the Milady Master Educator 3rd edition and at the end of each chapter students will complete chapter tests.
Students are taught through a series of practical, theory, clinical, and hands-on experience with the public. Time is also spent on reviewing Alabama Board of Cosmetology and Barbering status and regulations and state board preparations which is necessary requirements to obtain license. Students will gain a complete understanding of schools operations, from classroom to clinic floor. Students training will prepare them for an easy transition into a professional education career as an instructor. Students will gain experience in a hands-on environment, learning the latest teaching skills, educational judgments, safety judgments, proper work habits, and desirable attitude necessary to obtain licensure and for competency as an instructor or related position.
